01

Overview

Redesign of an existing e-commerce checkout within a production payment platform.

The goal was a simpler journey and more consistent interface — without disrupting the underlying system.

The work evolved an existing product with engineering and stakeholders, inside known technical limits.

02

My Role

UX/UI design from concept to final interface, following the project brief.

I worked with the Project Manager, Front-end Developer and stakeholders to turn requirements into solutions that balanced usability, consistency and what could be built.

03

Challenge

Checkout needed to improve while remaining compatible with established infrastructure.

Design decisions had to account for legacy constraints. Engineering collaboration was required so proposals stayed user-centred and buildable.

04

Process

Discovery sessions clarified business objectives, technical limits and user needs.

Concepts were reviewed with stakeholders and development to check feasibility before committing.

The interface was refined through iteration, trading off usability gains against engineering cost.

05

Outcome

The redesigned checkout shipped as part of the production platform.

The work improved visual consistency across the payment journey and showed how an existing product can evolve without a full rebuild.

06

Reflection

Checkout work is rarely only about the screen.

Strong outcomes came from understanding technical limits, working across disciplines and weighing user needs against what could ship.
